HELEN HREHA, age 93, of Crown Point and formerly of Lake Station, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Chicagoland Christian Village. She was born on June 6, 1918 in Gary, Indiana to Vasil and Mary Elkiv. Helen married Andrew Hreha on May 22, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1962. She was a lifelong area resident and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Station for over 47 years. Helen was a very loving mother who cared for her 2 daughters on her own. She will be missed dearly.

Helen is survived by her 2 daughters, Suzanne (Mark) Cargile of Valparaiso and Diane Hreha Paioletti of Overland Park, KS; 2 grandchildren, Julie (Premal) Kadakia and Eric Paioletti; other loving family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Michael Elkiv; and her sisters, Mary Bialata and Ann Elkiv.
