Helen Agnes Pollak

HELEN A. POLLAK, age 88, of Portage, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at St. Mary Medical Center. She was born in Gary on December 4, 1927 to the late Adam and Mary Knapp. Helen was employed by Jewel Food for 24 years. She loved to read in her free time will be greatly missed by her two dogs, Sadie and Sammy.

Helen is survived by her son, Timothy Pollak of Portage; daughter, Jean McLain of LaPorte; niece, Dorothy, and great niece, Linda, both of Portage; 2 dogs, Sadie and Sammy;

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Pollak; son, Robert Pollak; 7 brothers and sisters including Betty Boyer and Mary Balunda; nieces, Barbara Kinstner and Joyce Hedger; great nephew, Dan Rzepczynski

Visitation for Helen will be Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 2:00-7:00 p.m. with a 5:00 p.m. funeral service at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Rev. David Kime officiating. Funeral services will conclude at the funeral home with cremation at a later time. There will be a burial of cremains at Chapel Lawn at a later date.
