Helen Virginia Randon, 91, died peacefully Monday, November 22. Mrs. Randon was born May 26, 1919 in Gary to John and Victoria Konski. She married Andrew Randon in the summer of 1940 and has resided in Portage since 1950. Helen dedicated her life to her family. She took great pleasure in gardening, reading, baking, sewing, playing cards, and beating her family members at Scrabble. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Andrew, her sister Irene Whitsel, and her three brothers: Sylvester, Stanley, and John. She is survived by one sister, Jane Saims; daughter Janis McNamara; three sons: Charles, David, and Mark Randon; seven grandchildren: Rebecca Avalos, Janine McNamara, Jennifer Wiemeyer, Ross, Andrea, Angela, and Marki Randon; and six great-grandchildren. Helen was a lifelong member of Nativity of Our Savior Parish in Portage. Visitation will be Saturday, November 27, 2010 from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of Our Savior Parish, 2949 Willowcreek Rd., Portage followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Andrew Corona and Deacon Robert Bonta officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage.
