Helen B. Walter

Helen B (nee English) Walter, age 98, previously of Hobart passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 at Whispering Pines in Valparaiso. She worked as an elementary school teacher in Hobart for 9 years and Ross Township for 30 years. She was a member of Lake County Retired teachers, A.A.U.W., Phi Beta PSI- Theta Rho Chaptu Associates, Lake Federated Club, DAR, and Wally Byam Caravan Club. Helen is survived by her loving family; two daughters; Patricia (John) Hohensee of Rollingstone, MN and Gayle Walter of Hobart, IN; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. A special thank you, to the VNA Hospice in Valparaiso.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. Walter, daughter Karen D. Kirchner, and her parents; William and Daisy (nee Warner) English and brother Lloyd English.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.Burial at Calumet Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with family on Friday, August 17, 2012 from 3:00- 8:00 pm.
