HERTHA L. SULTZER, age 82, of Valparaiso, passed away Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2011 at Porter Hospital in Valparaiso. She was a lifelong area resident and was employed for years as a secretary at US Steel and sang in the US Steel Vorchestra. Hertha enjoyed playing bingo and watching tennis and figure skating.

Hertha is survived by her son, Terry Hallmen; 2 brothers, Edward and Reinhold (Sue) Hallmen; 3 sisters, Tillie (Mick) Stapinski, Millie Krulik and Helen Duchscher; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, Harry Sultzer; parents, Sue and Daniel Hallmen; and many brothers and sisters.

Donations can be made to the discretion of the family.

A funeral service for Hertha will be Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart with Rev. Charles Strietelmeier officiating.
