Hilda A Alvarado of
Portage Indiana,
age 83, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at her home. She was born on December 1, 1930 to the late Mariano Pantoja and Anastasia (nee Escamilla) Pantoja in Mexico. She married the love of her life Adolfo Alvarado on December 12, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois. Hilda spent her life devoted to her family and enjoyed sewing, working in the yard, and cooking for her granddaughters. She will be dearly missed.
Hilda is survived by her daughter, Maribel (Richard) Janis of Valparaiso, two grandchildren; Courtney Janis of Madison, Wisconsin and Ashton Janis of Valparaiso, brother, Mariano (Maria Eugenia) Pantoja, many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Adolfo Alvarado and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Methodist foundation- Krewe Athena would be appreciated.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. directly at Nativity of Our Savior Church, 2949 Willowcreek Road, Portage, Indiana 46368. Burial at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville . A visitation for Hilda will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at Nativity of Our Savior Church.
