Horacio "Junior" Alamo, Jr.

Horacio Alamo, Jr., age 14, of Hobart, IN, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022.

Junior was born on December 12, 2007 in Hobart, IN to the late Horacio, Sr. and Isabel (nee Artega) Alamo.  He was a 7 ^th grade student at River Forest Middle School.  He played the trombone in the school band.  Junior was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Junior loved to play video games and was a big fan of Mario and Pokemon.  He was great at math and very intelligent.  Junior was a very strong person.  He was full of life, very happy and energetic. He loved to be with his family and siblings.  He loved to read, play games, and watch movies with his siblings. He loved when his mom cooked for him. He was an amazing older brother to his little brother Jesus. Jesus says "he was a role model to me of how brave and strong he was. I want to be just like him." Junior will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

Junior is survived by his mother: Isabel Alamo; siblings: Maria, Yasmine, Julysa, Licha, and Jesus; maternal grandmother: Hildlisa Quintero; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and beloved cats: Harriet, Bomba, Bean, and Louie.

Junior is preceded in death by his father, Horacio, Sr.; maternal grandfather: Frederico Artega; and paternal grandparents: Imelda Cabral and Joses Alamo.

Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (600 W Old Ridge Rd, Hobart) on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 2:00-7:00 P.M.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. directly from St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church (2447 Putnam St., Lake Station) with Rev. Jaime Perea officiating.  At rest, Ridgelawn Cemetery.
