Howard Binkley of Hobart passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso. He was born December 03, 1925 in Pocahontas, Arkansas to the late Samuel and Artie Lois (nee Ellis) Binkley.
Howard retired from U.S Steel where he worked as a crane operator. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion, Post 100. Howard enjoyed boxing and bowling in his younger years. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his three daughters, Patsy Dickson, Kathy (Rene) Couture and Barb (Scott) Ford; seven grandchildren, Tombo (Lisa) Bryant, Harvey Dickson Jr., Jennifer (Haris) Mujezinovic, Amey (Jeff) Harrin, Cheryl (Steve) Batalon, Jo Ann Dickson and Shelly Chambers; 12 great grandchildren, Ashley, Abbey, Isabel, Alison, Mary, Leila, Adam, Haris, Brandon, Hailey, Ryan and Abigal and many other loving family members and friends.
Howard is preceded in death by his loving wife, Neva (nee Cutsinger) Binkley; his parents; two brothers, Paul Binkley, Grover (Dewey Lee) Binkley; son-in-law, Harvey Dickson; two special friends, Helen Hodges and Elsa Black.
Funeral service for Howard will be held on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 10:00 am, with Pastor Bob Burton officiating at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W Old Ridge Rd, Hobart, IN 46342.Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 2:00-8:00 pm also at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
