Howard R. Price Sr., age 96 of Miller passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012. He was born on December 17, 1915 to the late E.E. and Myrtle Price. He was a Miller/Gary area resident since 1922 and was a longtime and active member at the Marquette Park United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Miller Lions Club. Howard was the owner and operator of Price's Standard Sales and Service in Miller/Gary and he enjoyed keeping up with maintaining and servicing automobiles. Howard also enjoyed square dancing.

He is survived by 8 children, Mary (late Tony) Adams of MA; Jack (Carol) Sirbek of IN; Howard (Carol) Price Jr. of IN; Charles (Judith) Price of IN; Marjorie Fugate of IN; James (Andrea) Price of FL; Donald (Mitzi) Price of NC; Dr. Richard Price of IN; 2 sisters, Mildred (Delos) Brooks of IN; Doris (Fred) McShane of IN; 1 son-in-law, Daniel Kekelik and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Price (nee Myers), and 1 daughter, Barbara Kekelik.

Funeral services are Saturday February 4, 2012 at 12 p.m. at the Marquette Park United Methodist Church, 215 North Grand Blvd, Miller/Gary, Indiana. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery. Visitation is Friday, February 3, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage.
