Hugh E. Hicks

Age 84, a lifetime Northwest Indiana resident, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 21, 1929 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Charles and Nancy "Nanny (nee Pollard) Hicks. Hugh was a retired foreman on the Tin Line at LTV in East Chicago, IN. On November 7, 1948 he married the love of his life Marilyn Cress in Vigo Co, IN. Hugh was an avid woodworker and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Hugh is survived by his two sons Charles Wayne (Charyl ) Hicks and David Michael (Barbara) Hicks both of Valparaiso, Indiana, daughter, Shirley (John) Kallio of Valparaiso, Indiana, nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.
Hugh was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Hicks, his parents, three brothers Marvin Aaron, Virgil and Raymond Hicks.

A funeral service for Hugh will be Monday, December 23, 2013 at 11:00 am with Chaplain Craig Forwalter at Rees Funeral Home –Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana 46368.
