Ida Lee Myers

Ida Lee Myers, age 89, a Hebron resident passed away Monday at Chesterton Manor. She was born on July 13, 1929 in Gary, Indiana to the late Vernon and Lillie Mae (nee Roush) McDonald, a 1948 graduate of  Merriville High School. Ida retired in 2015 from Indiana Botanic Gardens where she was ran the shipping department. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend.

She was survived by her three children; Robert (Sandra) Hayes, Kellie Myers and Bill (Trudy) Myers; daughter-in-law, Eva Hayes; grandchildren, Wendy (Al) Singleton, Tina (Jason) Hayes, Tamara (Tom) Hayes, Joey (Tiffany) Walters, Joshua Myers, Jennifer (Greg) Miracle, Carol Elkins, Jeff (Melissa) Hayes, Christina Bakker and Michelle Coons; great grandchildren, Brad and (Chelsea) Singleton, Jayden and Landon Walters, Kailyn and Nicholas Hayes, Summer and Paige Bakker, Leia and Dakota Elkins, Max and Sophie Miracle; great-great grandchildren, Aubree, Adele, Amelia and Cora Singleton, Liam Cole; her beloved dog, Ernie , and many other loving family members and friends.

Ida enjoyed spending her time in her upholstery shop, gardening, cooking and with her family and she had a very special touch on the holidays.  She was a devoted member of the Hobart Eagles Club and the Hobart Moose.

She proceeded in death by her loving husband, Joseph William Myers; two children, Randy Hayes, Belinda Kramer; granddaughter, Brittany Singleton; her parents; father and mother in law, Vernon and Lillie McDonald.

Funeral services are Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Burial at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.
