Irene E. Rossi

Irene E. Rossi, age 94, of Valparaiso and formerly of Lake Station passed away Sunday September 13, 2020 at the Golden Living Center in Valparaiso.  Irene was born May 9, 1926 in East Chicago, Indiana to the late Adam and Mary Skrzyiarz.  She was a waitress that was a long-time employee of the Cedar Chest Restaurant and several other area restaurants.  Irene is a member of St Francis-Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Station.  Irene enjoyed playing Bingo and Cards

Irene is survived by two nephews, Lanny and Jerry Krajcir; one niece, Linda Ornelas; and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Joseph, Benny, Frank and Leo Gronek; seven sisters, Jennie Krajcir, Helen Sanders, Mimi Puskos, Sally Roberson, Babe Gronek, Gertrude Mastey and Estelle Moskell.

Visitation for Irene will be held at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel 3781 Central Avenue, Lake Station, IN 46405 on Saturday September 19, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.  Funeral Services will be 2:00 Saturday at the Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
