Ismael "Maelo" Diaz-Sedo, age 66 passed away Friday, December 25th 2020 in his home. Maelo was born on April 27, 1954 in Chicago IL. He married Elizabeth Sedo on May 31st, 1975, and together they raised a beautiful family. He was a Christian Man that was very loving and giving. He retired at Temple Steel where he was a steelworker. He enjoyed his job and also had many hobbies that included singing, and an avid collector of coins and watches. He was very compassionate and caring man, he had an amazing sense of humor and will always be remembered for his dedication to his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Elizabeth Sedo; daughter, Sonia (Daniel) Johnson; sons, Ismael (Samantha) Sedo, Jr., Daniel (Rebecca) Sedo, Omar (Damaris) Said; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brandon) Baldwin, Ariel Currie, Samuel Flores, Thalia Delrio, Liliana Zoe Sedo, Kevin Duncan, Ava Sedo, Josiah Johnson, Julissa Said, Angely Said, Joshua Johnson, Natalia Sedo; 2 great grandchildren, B.J. Baldwin, Elena Baldwin; brothers, Gilberto Sedo and Chapa Carrion; sister, Wanda Carrion; many other loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends including his special niece, Cynthia Gonzalez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Sedo and Ana Diaz; brothers, Johnny Sedo, Armando Sedo; and grandson, Lil' Dan Johnson.
A funeral service for Maelo will take place Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 12:30 pm at Latin Pentecostal Church, 3950 Marquette Road, Lake Station, IN 46405. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:30 am until the time of service at the church. He will be laid to rest at McCool Cemetery in Portage. Face masks and social distancing will be required for attendance to services. Due to health department guidelines, only 25 people will be allowed in the church.
