Jack L. Mattull, age 90 of Valparaiso passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017.  He was born on July 22, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Henry and Elsie Mattull.  Jack was a longtime Hobart resident and retired from Inland Steel in 1990. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan and he enjoyed bowling and golf.

He is survived by three daughters, Laura (Tom) Lucas of Brooklyn Park, MN; Diane (Ernie) Achor of Beaufort, SC; Julie Mattull of Valparaiso, IN; one son, John (Nikki) Mattull of Valparaiso, IN; 20 grandchildren, Regina, Angelica, Jessica, Marty, Vanessa, Christina, Deanna, Cece, Cathy, Jesse, Jacklynn, Tommy, Andrea, Alex, Adam, Michael, Christiana, Tristan, Gage, and Chase, thirty-five great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Mattull, and his second wife, Leona Mattull, one daughter, Victoria Mattull, and one grandson, Stephen Olivarri.

Funeral services are Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Preacher Jeremy Jones officiating.  Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo Michigan.  Visitation is Friday, January 5, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.  Call (219) 942-2109 or online at www.Rees funeralhomes.com
