Jack L. Stalion, age 71, of Hobart passed away Wednesday April 15, 2015 at Southlake Methodist Hospital in Merrillville. Jack was born October 12, 1943 in Evansville, Indiana to the late John E. and Kathryn (Beard) Stalion. Jack worked in production maintenance at US Steel prior to his retirement in 2008. Jack was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church in Western Kentucky and American Legion Post #260 in Portage. Jack was a Vietnam Era Army Veteran.
Jack is survived by his three children: Christopher (Michele) Stalion of Valparaiso, Pamela Tojek of Buffalo, New York and Tracy (Ken) Kissner of Lexington, South Carolina; six grandchildren: Hailey Stalion, Zach and Katie Tojek, Michael, Kyle and Grant Kissner; one brother James E. Stalion of Portage; one sister Patricia K. (Paul) Zbyrowski of Hobart and several nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife Karen (Pigg) Stalion, his parents, one brother John Stalion, one sister and brother-in-law Virginia (Hollis) Ordway.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday April 20, 2015 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342 with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday April 19th from 3-7 pm at the funeral home.
