Jack G. Taillon, age 86, of Hobart, IN, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021.
Jack was born on March 23, 1935 in Gary, IN to the late Ernest and Bertha (nee Olafson) Taillon. He was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School, Class of 1954. Jack was a proud veteran of the Army and a true patriot. He married the love of his life, Theresa (nee Pictor), in November of 1958. Jack worked as a Structural Steel Detailer for American Bridge.
Jack enjoyed riding motorcycles and was mechanically inclined, working on cars in his spare time. He also enjoyed woodworking. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jack is survived by his wife of 63 years, Theresa; sons: Paul (Dawn), James (Renee), and John (Amy); grandchildren: Trista, Brandy (Josh Clark), Lexi, Jared (Arielle Amrein), Christian (Alexis), Kirie (Robert Scott), Joseph, Matthew, Tommy, and Danny; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Kennedy, Brady, and Hazel; sisters-in-law: Carolyn (Ted) Dudzinski and Helen (Bob) Scobee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (600 W Old Ridge Rd., Hobart) on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 3:00-8:00 P.M. A prayer service will take place at 3:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. DIRECTY from St. Bridget's Catholic Church (107 Main Street, Hobart) with Fr. Brian and Andrew Dudzinski officiating. Army Funeral Honors will take place following mass. Cremation will follow.
