Jackie Kay Silkwood

Jackie Kay Silkwood (nee Spencer), age 74, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021.

Jackie was born on March 15, 1947 in Brazil, IN to the late Harvey Kenneth and Lola Mae Spencer.  She worked as a sales associate at Sears and Walmart.  Jackie enjoyed John Wayne Westerns and gardening.  She was all about her family and always waited up at night to make sure everyone was home safe. Jackie loved to shop for her family, whether for birthdays or Christmas and anything inbetween and loved to spend time with them.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her "great-grandgirls" and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Jackie is survived by her four children: Michael (LeeAnn) Stoehr, Lisa (Jerry) Woodard, Tanya (Richard) Okrzesik, and Timothy (Samantha Martinez) Silkwood; brother: Earl (Carol) Spencer; sister: Vicki (Chris) Fleissner; grandchildren: Sarah (Steve) Marrow, Zac Stoehr, Natasha Woodard,Ian Woodard, Levi Silkwood, Emma Silkwood, River Okrzesik, Kayla Okrzesik, and Noah Silkwood; and great-granddaughters: Leona and Annika Marrow.

Jackie is preceded in death by her parents: Harvey Kenneth and Lola Mae Spencer and her granddaughter: Sydney Renee Woodard.

Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel (5341 Central Ave, Portage) on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 P.M.  Prayers will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel at 10:30 A.M. with a graveside service to follow at Calvary Cemetery at 11:00 A.M.
