JACQUELINE L. ATKINSON, age 77, of Lake Station, formerly of Hammond, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014. She was born on August 19, 1937 in Hammond, Indiana to Harry and Juanita Lockridge. Jackie was a 1956 graduate of Edison High School in Gary. She worked for many years as a secretary for the American Cancer Society. Jackie will be deeply missed.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley Atkinson and her parents.

She is survived by her son, John Wesley Atkinson; 2 daughters, Gina Lea Atkinson and Lana Rae Atkinson all of Lake Station; 5 grandchildren, Daniel James Boyer and Nathan Boyer, John Scott Peterson, Jr. and John Scott Peterson III, and Rachel Elizabeth Peterson; 2 great grandchildren, Alina Marie Castillo and Daniel James Boyer, Jr.; 2 brothers, Tom Lockridge of Hammond and Rodney Lockridge of Hobart; sister, Deobrah Johnson of Hammond; nieces, nephews and other loving family.
