Jacqueline Zavada-Sofranoff
Age76 passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at St. James Medical Center in Olympia Fields, Illinois. She was born on January 24, 1938 to the late Stanley and Agnes (nee Tomak) Zavada in Gary, Indiana. Jacqueline was a woman of many trades and talents. She worked for Sunbeam Manufacture in Gary, was a Real Estate Agent for Campbell and Zimney in Hobart, accounting and receiving at Zayre and Venture department store and managed Merrillville Sewing Center. She was a past member of Delta-Chi-Sigma Sorority and enjoyed sewing and was a self-taught accomplished quilter, taught ceramics out of her home and was a member of the American Rose Society. Jacqueline was a 1956 graduate of Tolleston High School. She will be remembered as a loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her husband; Phillip Sofranoff of Hobart; twin sister, Geraldine Guillen two sons; Mike Aguilar of Illinois and Leonard Aguilar of Lowell, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Robert Harvey and her parents and numerous aunts and uncles.
A private memorial service will be held on July 20, 2014.
