James "Jim" Alan Mccluskey

James "Jim" Alan McCluskey, 64, of LaPorte passed away January 17, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born November 30, 1959, in Gary, Indiana to the late Dale and Glenda Ruth (nee: Kell) McCluskey.

Jim married Louise Schuler in 1982 and together they raised three children.  He was a certified millwright and worked for US Steel until retirement, and a member of Millwrights Local 1076.  In his spare time Jim enjoyed playing cards, watching football, and working outdoors.  Above all, he loved his family and friends and will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

Jim will be forever remembered by his loving wife, Louise; children, Joshua, Matthew, and Rachael; 2 grandchildren; Rosalynn and Zann; four siblings; Joan, Joe, Jan, and Jenny; and many other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Judy.

A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, January 23 from 1:00pm – 5:00pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana 46368, with a service to follow at 5:00pm.
