Obituary

JAMES P. ANTCZAK, age 64, of Portage, passed away suddenly Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at St. Mary Medical Center Emergency Room in Hobart. James had been a longtime Hobart resident and was retired from Midwest Steel/US Steel in Portage. He was a US Army Veteran during the Vietnam War. Jim enjoyed watching his "grandkids" and spectator sports including: Chicago Bears, White Sox, Notre Dame and Blackhawks. He also enjoyed his trips to the local casinos.
He is survived by his son, Jim (Renee) Antczak of Hobart, 5 brothers: Ed of Merrillville, John (Vicky) Antczak of Crown Point, Tom (Roxie) Antczak of Lowell, Mike (Joyce) Antczak of Crown Point and Bob of Lancaster, CA, 3 sisters: Peggy (David) Keller, Rosemary (Tom) Wellman and Patty (George) Mikulich, all of Crown Point, 2 grandchildren: Connor and Avery Antczak, numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandi in 1999, parents, Edward & Mary Antczak, sister, Helen Drinski and sister-in-law, Sally Krcmarich. In lieu of flowers contributions to the family would be appreciated.
Funeral services and visitation will be Monday, September 16, 2013 with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home with Rev. Dominic V. Bertino officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral service.
