James "Jaime" Delvalle

James C. "Jaime" DelValle, age 82, of Hobart, IN passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 5, 2022.

Jaime was born on September 25, 1940 in Puerto Rico to the late Julio and Felicita (nee Vazquez) DelValle.  He worked as a laborer for EJ&E Railroad with over 33 years of experience.  Jaime married the love of his life, Juanita Serrano, on September 24, 1966 and together they raised a beautiful family.

He was a very loving father and husband and a close relationship with them.  Jaime was always available to others to lend a hand.  He loved the Chicago White Sox and was a fan of Elvis Pressley.  He enjoyed talking about cars old and new.  Jaime enjoyed being in nature and took a walk daily.  His family, especially his grandchildren, meant the world to him.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jaime is survived by his wife of 56 years, Juanita; children: Jimmy A. DelValle and Laurie (John) Young; grandchildren: Katelyn, Gianna, and Sara; 2 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Wilfredo DelValle, Julio DelValle, Jr., John Anthony (Becky) DelValle, José (Judy) DelValle, Nellie (late John) Mendez, and Mary (late Jim) Constandars; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jaime was preceded in death by his parents: Julio and Felicita DelValle, and brothers: Steven and Jesse (late Jeanette) DelValle.

Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (600 W. Old Ridge Rd, Hobart) on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 2:00-8:00 P.M.  A funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Juan De La Cruz officiating.  At rest, Calvary Cemetery.
