James Donald "Don" Lawrence

Age 63, of Knox, formerly of Portage, IN. passed away at his home surrounded by family. He was born on October 22, 1961, in Gary, Indiana to Ellen (nee Babb) and the late James Lawrence. Don retired from Sears, where he worked as a skilled mechanic, he had a deep affection for cars, but his love for his wife, son, and especially his grandchildren, far exceeded it.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cindy Lawrence; son, Jacob (Breanne) Lawrence; two grandchildren, Jace Donald Lawrence and Brynlee Nichole Lawrence; mother, Ellen Lawrence; three sisters, Lesa (Louis) Garcia, Melissa Lawrence and Meredith (Robert) Towner and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Lawrence.

A memorial service for Don will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 5341 Central Ave. Portage, Indiana 46368. A memorial visitation will also be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel from 12:00 pm until the time of service.
