JAMES J. FATTORE, age 77, of Hobart, passed away Friday, October 24, 2014. James was born on June 15, 1937 in Gary to the late Ercole (Nick)and Barbara Fattore. He was raised in Gary and graduated from Lew Wallace High School. Jim graduated from Butler University College of Pharmacy where he played football for the Butler Bulldogs. He owned and operated Hillcrest Pharmacy and Hobart Pharmacy. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Pharma-Card Pharmacy. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Jim was a member of the Hobart Phi Delts.
He is survived by his daughter, Laurie (Mike Jackson) Fattore of Island Lake, IL; loving partner, Arlene Lynch of Valparaiso; 2 grandsons, Ryan Mayer (and Ryan's father, Bob Mayer), and Jared Nixon; sister-in-law, Judi Pearson of Indianapolis; nieces, Pam Pearson of FL and Dawn Pearson of Indianapolis. He will be deeply missed.
Jim was preceded in death by both his parents, his wife, Susan; son, Steven; and brother, Robert Fattore.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to VNA Hospice of Porter County.
A visitation for Jim will be Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart. A memorial mass for Jim will be Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 W. Harrison Blvd., Valparaiso, with Father Michael Hoffman officiating. There will be additional visitation on Wednesday at St. Paul from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Private burial will take place at Calumet Park Cemetery.
