James G. Holland, age 61 of New Chicago passed away Friday, October 30, 2020.  He was born on December 19, 1958 in Gary, Indiana to the late Jack L. and Doris A. Holland.  James was a longtime area resident, residing in Portage, Lake Station, New Chicago, and Hobart.  He was retired from the Town of New Chicago where he had worked as a meter reader.

He is survived by two daughters, Melinda (Robert Maldonado) Holland of New Chicago, IN; Beth Holland of FL; three brothers, Jack (Dorothy) Holland of Boone Grove, IN; Steve (Sharon) Holland of KY; Roger Holland of Jacksonsville, FL; nine grandchildren, Hailey, Alyssa, Evan, Makenna, Savannah, Robert, Tommy, Isiah, and former wife, Patty Holland of FL.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage.  Cremation will take place at a later date.  Burial of cremains will be at Blake Cemetery at a later date.  (219) 762-3013
