James L. "Jupe" Johnson

James L. "Jupe" Johnson, of Holland, Michigan and formerly of Hobart passed away Thursday August 11, 2016 at the Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jupe was born December 18, 1954 in Daus, TN to the late James and Gladys (Kilgore) Johnson. Jim was a heating and air conditioning technician working for Western Michigan Heating and Air Conditioning. Jupe was an avid fan of the Bears, Cubs and Detroit Red Wings. He enjoyed fishing, skiing and bowling. He was a member of the Holland, MI VFW Auxiliary.

James is survived by his Life Companion, Robin Johnson; two children Bruce M. (Life Companion Lesley Pizer) Johnson of Crown Point and Dana Lynn (David) Fischer of Fredericksburg, VA; four grandchildren Kennedy Johnson, Lauren Fischer, Drew Fischer and Madison Pizer; his brother Ricky Johnson of Tempe, AZ; three sisters Shelby (Russell) Tarkany of Valparaiso, Linda Pearman of Lowell and Sharon (Brian) Arellano of Portage; his brother-in-law Andy Wojkovich of Hobart; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Patsy Rodrick, Brenda Wojkovich and Beverly Gay Johnson; two brothers Bill Johnson and Edward Lee Johnson; and niece Theresa Johnson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am Monday August 15, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342 with Pastor Clemon Chappell, Jr. officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8 pm at the funeral home.
