James Anthony Kalberer
James Anthony Kalberer, age 60, of Hobart passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2026, in the Harbor Care and Rehab Center in East Chicago, Indiana. Jim was born August 16, 1965, in Gary, Indiana, to Lewis and the late Jeanette (Davis) Kalberer. He was loved and will be missed by his family.
Jim is survived by his father Lewis “Joe” Kalberer of Hobart; two brothers, William Robert (Annette) Kalberer and Edward Allen (Dana Ondo) Kalberer; and several extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette Kalberer; and sister, Valerie Jo Kalberer.
Visitation for James will be held Friday June 26, 2026, from 2-6 pm at the Rees Funeral Home 600 West Old Ridge Road. His funeral will be held at 10:00 am Saturday with Rev. Nathan Kramer officiating at Rees Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Calumet Park Cemetery.
