James Rocha

James Rocha, age 53 of Lake Station passed away surrounded by loved ones on Friday, June 6, 2025. He was born on December 8, 1971, in Gary, Indiana to Jesus and Maria Rocha. He was a 1990 graduate of Edison High School and worked at Strack and Van Til, Key Markets and Central Markets for many years.  Jay liked bowling and was a huge fan of the LA Dodgers, Lakers, Raiders, and Chicago White Sox.  He was a devoted son, brother and uncle and will be dearly missed.

Jay is survived by his mother, Maria Rocha; brothers, Fernando (Maria) Rocha, Luis (Brenda) Rocha; sisters, Terry Gomez, Dianna (Michael) Miller, Esther (Jerry) Baldazo; sister-in-law, Barbara Rocha; many loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Rocha; brothers, Gabriel Rocha, Jorge Rocha; and brother-in-law, Albert Gomez.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 13, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage with a prayer service at 6:30 pm. A funeral service will take place Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 10:00 am at Latin Pentecostal Church, 3950 Marquette Road, Lake Station. He will be laid to rest at Angelcrest Cemetery in Valparaiso.
