James Norman Shore

Age 67, of Portage passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022, after battling cancer and heart disease for over 12 yrs. He was born in Gary, Indiana to the late Glenn Norman and Anna (nee Bogdanich) Shore. He retired from Local 81 where he worked as a Laborer. On February 16, 2002, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee Jim married his bride, Jane Squire and they spent 30 loving years together. Jim treasured the time he had with Jane and his boys and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time riding his 1975 Harley "Old Blue" that he inherited from his father and now will be given to his sons to enjoy. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, and eating his sister's Lasagna. Jim will be remembered by his wonderful sense of humor, his loving disposition, his close friends, Wanderers family and for the way he loved his family.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jane Shore; three sons, John (Ashley) Unrue, James Glenn Norman Shore, and Ronald Mitchell (Megan Bell) Shore;  three grandchildren, Jackson and Charlotte Unrue and Aurora Rose Shore; sister Janet "Jan" (Michael) Shore Fitterling ; brother-in-law, James Squire; two aunts, Dorothy Idzior and Janet Kaletta; cousins, Donna (Randy) Kuehl, Garry Gerdom, Jeff, Kathy and Lauren Wardell, Kim and Chris Morehead, Blanche (Roy) Hughes, Glenn (Suzanne) Kaletta, Mary Ann Livovich, Rebecca Sabo, Gaelyn (Adam) Mlynarcik and Owen Thomas; best friend, Ron (Mary) Brown and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Norman and Anna Shore and cousin, Linda Gerdom, and Mike Livovich.

A funeral service for Jim will be held Monday, August 8, 2022, at 11 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana 46368. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. also at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
