JAMES P. "JIM" STEELE, age 68, of Hobart, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012 at home. Jim had been a resident of Hobart for 22 years and was formerly of Calumet Township. He was a retired truck driver and formerly active in stock car racing. Jim was also a mechanic and enjoyed working on cars.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Wilma, 3 children: Penny Steele of Hobart, James E. "Bubby" (Anita) Steele of Calumet Township and Sheila (Troy) Brownfield of Hobart, 5 grandchildren: J.R., Dewayne, Rusty, Amanda and Abby, 1 great grandson, Jordan and nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice & Martha Steele and brother, Ronnie Steele.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Rev. Richard Brown officiating.
