James V. Sullivan, age 73, of Hobart, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018. He was born on December 14, 1944 in Gary, Indiana to the late Jack and Anna Sullivan. Jim retired from US Steel where he worked as a furnace operator. He was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan.  In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, especially taking walks, riding his bike or just mowing the grass. He loved his grandchildren and above all, he cherished the time he spent vacationing with them all over the Midwest.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Sullivan; son, Steven (Amy) Sullivan; daughter, Tracey (Joseph) Rudman; grandchildren, Mark Breeden, Dylan and Shawn Sullivan, Taylor and Brandon Rudman; one great grandson, Marky Breeden; brother, Patrick (Jackie) Sullivan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Sullivan. Memorial contributions in Jim's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.

A graveside service for Jim will take place Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10:00 am directly at Evergreen Memorial Park, 3815 West 39 ^th Ave. Hobart with Rev. Charles Strietelmeier officiating.
