JAMES M. "JIM" WADE, age 69, of Hobart, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 at home. Jim was a lifelong Hobart resident and retired from St. Mary Medical Center as Engineering Manager with 50 years of service. He was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church in Portage and member of Knights of Columbus, Council #9114 of Portage.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Marilyn, son, Jeffrey (Dawn) Wade of Atoka, TN, daughter, Colleen (Troy) Matlock of Jacksonville, NC, 5 granddaughters; Ashley & Amber Matlock; April, Stephanie & Jacqueline Wade, brother, Austin (Kathy) Wade Oceanside, CA, 2 sisters, Rose Hartman of Portage and Ruth (Roger) Anderson of Booneville, Arkansas, special Goddaughter, Emily Odinsoff and nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by infant son, James Thomas Wade, parents, Michael & Josephine Wade and 4 sisters, Anna Mae Miracle, Frances Willy, Betty Dewar & Janet Knight. In lieu of flowers, donations to either St. Mary Medical Center or VNA Hospice of Porter County would be preferred.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, September 15, 2010 beginning at 10 am at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, 2949 Willowcreek Rd., Portage, with Rev. Andrew Corona celebrating the Mass. Jim will be taken to church Wednesday morning at 9:00 am for visitation until Mass begins at 10 am. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8 pm with a prayer service at 3:00 pm with Deacon Robert Bonta at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W.
