James E. Wilshire

James E. Wilshire, age 76, of Lake Station passed away Friday June 20, 2025, surrounded by his family at the Northwest Health-Porter Hospital in Valparaiso. James was born March 17, 1949, in Clinton, Tennessee to the late Homer and Offie (Kennedy) Wilshire. He retired from LTV Burns Harbor Plant 84inch roll mill. James was a proud member of the United Steelworkers Union. He was also a member of the Portage Church of Jesus Christ.

James is survived by his three children, Michelle (Shawn) Spencer of Prairie Home, MO, Kimberly (James) Sutton of Lake Station, and Kevin (Jenn) Wilshire of DeMotte; and close friend and neighbor, Jason Hepler, and many dear friends and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marilyn; his parents; and six brothers and sisters.

Visitation for James will be held Tuesday June 24, 2025, from 5-6 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, Indiana 46368. His funeral service will follow immediately at 6 pm at the funeral home. James' burial will be Friday June 27, 2025, at 1 pm in Calvary Cemetery.
