Jane C. Arend, age 89, of Portage passed away Tuesday February 4, 2025, at St Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Jane was born July 18, 1935, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Lawson and Emma (Blevins) Arend. She retired from the US Steel accounting department after forty years of service in 1997. Jane was her own person. She loved boating on Lake Michigan.

She is survived by her nephew, Michael (Jane A.) Arend of Wheatfield; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John Arend.

Visitation for Jane will be held Thursday February 13, 2025, from 11 am to 1pm at Rees Funeral Home 600 W Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342. Funeral services will follow immediately at 1 pm at the Funeral Home. The burial will be in Hebron Cemetery Hebron, Indiana.
