Janet Kay Gottlieb

Janet Kay Gottlieb, age 80 of Hobart, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, March 15, 2023, in Porter County, Indiana. She was born September 13, 1942, in Plymouth, Indiana.  Janet married Thomas D. Gottlieb, who passed in 1994.  Janet was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene in Portage.  She worked as a seamstress operating her own business, the Thread Mill, and assisted in the daily operations of the family farm.  Janet was a lifelong supporter of 4-H and a member of Porter County Extension Homemakers Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nina and Howard Schafer of Bremen, and beloved sister, Connie Ullery of Bremen, Indiana.

Survivors are two daughters, Brenda Palmer of Fishers, Indiana and LaVonda Gottlieb Gibson of Granville, Ohio, and 5 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday March 20, 2023, 10 am to 12pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso. Memorials may be made to Porter County 4-H.

Funeral services for Janet will be Monday, March 20,2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Burial following at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso. Visitation will be Monday, March 20,2023 from 10:00a.m. until the time of service at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart (219) 942-2109 or online at www.reesfuneralhomes.com.
