Janice "Jan" Reder, age 65, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family, after a brave fight with cancer. Janice was born on May 17,1948 to Walter and Lillian Kielkowski in Gary, Indiana. She married the love of her life John Reder on September 5, 1996 in Valparaiso, Indiana.
She was a retired employee of the Times Newspaper, Strack's, and Wiseway. She was an avid collector of Charlie Brown Peanut Gang, and loved her canine companions.
She is survived by her loving husband John, her loving family, special friend, Ann Maxson of Kaw City, Oklahoma and other dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Don Kielkowski.
Funeral services for Janice will be Friday, June 28, 2013 beginning with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Avenue, Lake Station and going in procession to St. Francis Xavier Church, 2447 Putnam Street, Lake Station. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. David Kime officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park in Merrillville. Visitation is Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 2:00 at 8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel.
