Janis Marie Donovan (nee Poeschel)

age 83, died March 20, 2013 at her home. Janis was born November 1, 1929 in Chatfield, Mn to Carl and Doris Poeschel. She moved to Indiana in 1949 where she met Ed Donovan. They fell in love and celebrated 59 years of marriage before Ed's death in November 2012.Janis spent her years caring for her family and home. A proud and loving mother and grandmother, she was happiest when surrounded by her family. She had a passion for gardening, fishing and bird watching. Janis found great joy in summer vacations with her family in northern Wisconsin and northern Minnesota.
She is survived by her sister Bethany Smith, Crown Point, In., brothers-in-law Tom (Margaret) Donovan, Portage, In., Al (Trisha) Jackson, Valparaiso, In. Two sons Dean (Diane), Cincinnati, Ohio, Dan (Judy), Mpls, Mn. many nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Megan, Shannon and Kevin.
Donations may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church where Janis has been a member for over 50 years. A Memorial service will be 4:00 pm Saturday March 23, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church 900 Luther Drive Hobart, Indiana 46342 with Rev. Gary S. Nagy officiating. Visitation will be from 3-4 at the Church.
