Janis V. Mcnamara

Janis V. McNamara, age 76, a lifelong Portage, IN resident passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

Janis was born on January 13, 1948 in Portage, IN to the late Andrew and Helen (nee Konski) Randon.  She was a graduate of Portage High School.  Janis married James McNamara on February 10, 1974 and enjoyed 49 years together.  She worked hard to care for her home and her children.  Janis was very interested in healthy eating and keeping the environment healthy.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all.

Janis is survived by her husband: Jim; children: James (Frances) McNamara, Lynn (Tom) Drapac, Janine McNamara, and Jennifer (James) Landis; grandchildren: Catherine, Madeline, Stephen, and Henry Wiemeyer, and Paxton Landis; brothers: David (Debbie) Randon and Mark Randon; and many nieces and nephews.

Janis is preceded in death by her parents: Andrew and Helen, and brother: Charles Randon.

Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel (5341 Central Ave., Portage) on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 2:00-8:00 P.M.  Prayers will be held at Rees Olson Chapel on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 9:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church (2949 Willowcreek Rd., Portage) at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Kevin McCarthy officiating.  At Rest, Calvary Cemetery.
