Jason L. Burrell, age 44, of Hobart, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019. He was born on May 22, 1974 in East Chicago, Indiana to Robert and Sheryl Burrell. Jason was a 1992 graduate of Hobart High School. On May 17, 1997, he married Susan (nee Johnston) Burrell. He was currently employed as a Crane Operator at Arcelor Mittal Steel and was a member of the United Steelworkers Union Local #6787. He was a sports fan and enjoyed playing games with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Burrell; parents, Robert and Sheryl Burrell; sister, Renee (Juan) Balboa; nieces and nephews, John (Tracy) Graun, Anyssa (Patrick) Grimes, Sarah Balboa, Evan Balboa, Juanie Balboa; great nephew, Emiliano; great nieces, Calianna and Alicia; maternal grandfather, William Dutton.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Joan Dutton; paternal grandparents, Frank and Emma Burrell.

A funeral service for Jason will take place Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Thomas Shalapsik officiating.
