Jean L. Benson, age 74, of Portage, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018.  She was born in Salamanca, New York on May 31, 1944 to the late George and Ruth (nee Wiltsie) Benson.  Jean was a Residential Director at Arc Bridges from 1979 until she retired in 2007.  Previously, starting in 1972, she worked for Shepard's in Wisconsin and Forget Me Not of Memphis, Tennessee.  She was a member of Inland Manor Baptist Church in Hobart.

Jean is survived by her brother, Thomas (Cindy) Benson of Unionville, IN; sister, Roberta (Tim) Redd of Lore City, OH; sister in law, Kay Benson of Memphis, TN; and several loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Richard, Victor and Irene Benson.

A memorial service for Jean will take place Sunday, October 21, 2018 with Rev. Ryon Adcock officiating at 12:00 pm at Inland Manor Baptist Church, 630 N. County Line Rd.
