Jean Marie Broderick, age 59, of Gary passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015. Jean was born on May 1, 1956 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to the late John Broderick and Gwendolyn Broderick. She was an Patient Account Administrator , who in her free time enjoyed crocheting and gardening. Jean was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. Jean enjoyed life and even after death continues to help two other people to enjoy theirs by the donation of her kidneys. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Jean is survived by her son, Shawn Broderick of Chesterton; three daughters, Trina Broderick of South Carolina, Katelynn Broderick of Dyer and Becca (Tom Harvey) Broderick of Chesterton; eight grandchildren, Brittany, Alexis, Destiny, Collin, Emilie, Trinity, Kaiden and Jamar; brother, John (Debra) Broderick of Hobart; two sisters Mary (Robert) Barron of Schererville, Nancy (Milton Hope) Scalzitti of Dyer and many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Elizabeth Broderick.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the family would be appreciated.
A funeral service for Jean will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. with Father Theodore Mens officiating at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until time of service also at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
