Jean M. Davis, age 87, passed away peacefully Monday August 14, 2017. She was born November 18, 1929 in Hobart, Indiana to Charles and Mildred Diederich. Jean was a lifelong member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church. She was also a member of St. Ann Confraternity, St. Mary Hospital Auxiliary and a charter member of Sigma Upsilon Alpha Phi Sorority. Jean and her husband Bill were the owners of Davis Petroleum, Inc.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 44 years William J. Davis and brother's-in-law Bob Davis and Bill Ward.

Left to treasure her memory are her sons, Rick (Barb) Davis of Conway, AR and Tim (Suzie) Davis of Tomahawk, WI; her daughters, Cyndi (Jeff) Beedle of Chesterton, Pam (Wade) Vaughn of Virginia Beach, VA and Rhiannon (David Poremba) Davis of Hobart; her grandchildren, the joys of her life Ryan (Kaitlyn Schmidt), Kyle (Kate) and Jared (Mallory) Vaughn; Hannah Davis; Jerry (Diedra Turner) Cordova; Kali and Nathan Davis; Liz (Derek) Ferguson; Cory and Erin Beedle; and five precious great grandchildren; also surviving are sisters, Lorraine Ward of Walkerton and Carolyn (John) Pfeifer of Valparaiso; and sisters-in-law, Betty Davis of Hobart and Nina Davis of Angola; and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Rittenhouse Village, Portage for their dedicated care to Jean for these past three years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at St. Bridget Catholic Church 568 E. 2nd Street, Hobart, IN at 10:00 am with Rev. Benjamin Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage, IN. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Bridget's Church.
