Jean Deem

Jean Deem, age 83, of Lake Station, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on December 6, 1933 to the late Dorrie and Julia Carmin. On January 15, 1955, she married the love of her life, Charles Deem, who preceded her in death. In her free-time, Jean enjoyed bowling three times a week. She loved to go out to eat and enjoyed her Texas trips every year. Above all, she loved her family and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her sons, David (Tammy) Deem, Dennis Deem, Don (Tonya) Deem; daughter, Dee (Bob) Troup; grandchildren, Nicole (David) Forsythe, David Deem, Jr., Joe Deem, Jade (Josh) Breedlove, Kara Deem, Leah (Hunter) Brumble, Christopher (Erinn) Deem, Rob Troup, Christopher (Melinda) Troup; 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Deem in 1997; daughter, Dory Infante in 1991; grandson, Manuel Infante in 1996.

A funeral service for Jean will take place Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage with Brother Don Deem officiating. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. For more information, please call (219) 762-3013.
