Jean Marie Miller, age 85, of Knox formerly of Portage passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013. Jean worked as a teller for Bank One and retired in 1990. She married the love of her life, Fred A. Miller on April 26, 1947 in Boston, Massachusetts. She was a member of the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary #748 and the Hospital Auxiliary of Starke Memorial Hospital. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her family at Bass Lake.
She is survived by one sister; Barbara Morrane of Chicago, children; Robert (Susan) Miller of Portage, Nancy (Terry) Grinage of Knox, Jeanette (George) Horton of Valparaiso , Lori (Robby) Robb of Portage, Michael (Dianna) Miller of Portage and Barbara Rocha and the late Gabriel Rocha of Portage, 22 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; Fred A. Miller, parents; Virgil and Alice Roberts, infant son, her twin sister; Janet Helme , great grand-daughter Kylar Robb and son-in-law, Gabriel Rocha also Jack Pierce and Richard Kimmel. Memorial donations to VNA Horton Hospice in Valparaiso would be appreciated.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 11 am with Pastor Bob Burton officiating at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Portage. Visitation will be Monday, October 7, 2013 from 2-8 pm also at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
