Jeanette L. Haigy

Jeanette L. "Jaye" Haigy, age 84 of Portage passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Valparaiso Care and Rehab. She was born on January 23, 1938 in Gary, Indiana to the late Wilbur and Florence Snell. Jaye worked for many years as a factory worker for ANCO wiper blades. She was a hard worker and dedicated all of her time to her family. She was her absolute happiest at family reunions and never missed the opportunity to keep score at one of her grandkid's sporting events.

She is survived by her sons, Gordon (Kathleen) Richie, Don (Diane) Richie; 10 grandchildren, many great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Florence Snell; daughter, Wendy Richie; and brothers, Richard and Herbert Snell.

A funeral service for Jaye will take place Monday, May 16, 2022 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. For more information, please call (219) 762-3013.
