Jeanette Rose Mihal

Jeanette Rose Mihal (nee Courtney) age 89, a Hobart resident since 1958, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018. She was born on September 24, 1928 in East Gary, Indiana. She was a 1947 Edison High School graduate and on August 12, 1950 she married Albert Mihal in East Gary, Indiana. She worked as a waitress for many years at Midwest Steel Supervisors Club in Portage and Jonathan's in Miller. Jeanette grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved all animals.

Jeanette is survived by her loving family, son, Greg (Terri) Mihal of Westville; daughter, Sherri (Mark) Tomkiewicz of Chesterton; four grandchildren, Ryan (Kim) Tomkiewicz of Valparaiso, Justin (Betsy) Tomkiewicz of Chesterton, Kacie (Justin) Mihal of Michigan and Korey (Bri) Mihal of Westville; two great grandchildren, Nicholas Ryan Tomkiewicz and Olivia Rose Tomkiewicz; half sister, Jean Toscani of Valparaiso; and her cat, Sweet pea.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Mihal; parents, Fredrick "Roy "and Rose (nee Smith) Courtney; three brothers, Edward Sadelack, Roy Courtney Jr. and Floyd Courtney.
