Jeanne F. Martin (nee Hamilton), age 88 of Valparaiso, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, January 24, 2025, while at home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 4,1936, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Alfred and Ruth Hamilton. On Christmas Eve in 1955, she married Joseph Martin in Dravosburg, PA. The two of them moved to Northwest Indiana in 1963 to raise their family. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who provided loving care for her husband during his extended illness. Jeanne will always be remembered as a devout Christian who really loved the Lord.

She is survived by her son, Joseph (Deborah) Martin; daughter, Wendy (Mike) Whittinghill; 5 grandchildren, Holly Martin, Joseph Martin, Jr., David Martin, Linda (Christopher) Ling, Steven (Angelique) Whittinghill; 8 great grandchildren, Blake, Brayden, Autumn, Brodie, Levi, Mason, Jacob and Brooklyn; and many loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Ruth Hamilton; her beloved husband, Joseph Martin; and her brother, Richard Hamilton.

A funeral service for Jeanne will take place Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at McCool Cemetery. For more information, please call (219) 762-3013.
