Jeannine A. Wiesen

Jeannine A. Wiesen (Brockus), age 87, of Portage, IN, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 28, 1933 in Hammond, IN to the late Harry Francis and Dorothy (Nelson) Brockus. On July 19, 1953 she married Ralph Wiesen.

Jeannine was a member of Miller Ikes Boat Club, Izaak Walton League Portage, and Teamsters Union #142.  She loved playing bingo and enjoyed gambling at Blue Chip and Four Winds Casinos.  Jeannine was an avid NASCAR and Indy racing car fan and loved playing pinocle. She was always trying to win the Publisher's Clearing House.  Jeannine was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.  She adored her family and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children: Ralph David Wiesen, Marilyn (Donn) Zengler, Cindy (late Tom) Weber, Dorothy Ann Wiesen-Wilson; 11 grandchildren: Dawn, Brian, Matt, Jamie, Julie, Jennifer, Justin, Lacey, Christine, Ashley, and Brandi; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Donna Lloyd and Peggy Shorter; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Wiesen in 1990; brothers: William "Bill" and Jerry Brockus; and sisters: Shirley Kegley and Linda Siple.

A funeral service for Jeannine will take place Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage.  A visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
