Jeffery G. Jones, age 69, of Hobart, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016. He was born on September 24, 1946 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Donald and Julia Jones. He served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Post #17 in Hammond, the Vietnam Veterans of America Post #905 in Portage, and the Gary Area Vet Center PTSD group for 10 years.

Jeff is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Carol Jones; daughters, Lori (James) Tish, Kimberly (Robert) Childers; one grandchild, Zachary Childers; niece, Jorie (Michael) Coll; nephew, Scott (Tami) O'Connor; cousins, Elaine (Larry) Wozny, Millie (Raymond) Abel; numerous loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Karen O'Connor; and brother in law, Charles O'Connor. Memorial contributions in Jeff's name may be made to the Disabled Americans Veterans Post #17 or to the Vietnam Veterans of America Post #905.

A funeral service for Jeff will take place Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342 with Rev. Rebecca Smith officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, June 24, 2016 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
