Jeffrey James Amstein, 69, of Porter, Indiana passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2024.  He was born on November 12, 1955, in Valparaiso, Indiana to the late Robert and Margaret (nee Warner) Amstein.

On October 13,1979 Jeffrey married the love of his life, the late Nancy (nee Maciejewski), and they spent 44 loving years together, before her passing in 2024.  Jeffrey was a retired supervisor of shipping and receiving at MonoSol and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Community.   He enjoyed traveling, working outside, watching the Cubs, but most of all he loved spending time watching his grandson's sporting events. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

Jeffrey is survived by his daughter, Andrea (Mike Kobe) Amstein, grandchildren, Jason, Karter, and Bryce Kobe; two sisters, Jackie (Jim) Hoffman, and Sandy (Mario) Santacaterina; brother Bob (Paula) Amstein; numerous nieces and nephews, his fur companion, Skipper and other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Nancy; son, Jeffrey E. Amstein; and sister, Pamela Amstein.

A visitation will be held from 4:00pm – 8:00pm Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana.  The funeral service will be Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 11:00am, with a short visitation from 10:00-11:00 also at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage.  Condolences can be shared at www.reesfuneralhomes.com.
